The Cat & Cage Folk Club presents Pete Kavanagh. Pete is a singer-songwriter from Co. Kildare, known for his emotive blend of Americana-infused folk & poetic lyricism. On stage, Pete delivers heartfelt performances that create a deep connection with audiences. His 2022 debut album ‘Join Up the Dots’ received huge critical acclaim, being voted best Irish album by Lonesome Highway Magazine, with the standout track ‘To Hold the Red Rose’ reaching the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition. His poignant ballad ‘Darkness Before Dawn’, inspired by a tragic event in Newbridge, was recorded by Christy Moore and features on Christy’s latest album ‘A Terrible Beauty’. Pete & his band will be showcasing a set of new songs that will feature on his forthcoming album, due for release early next year. Support from fledgling folk duo Kate & Sadie.
